WELCOME TO THE SCHOOL OF CHAMPIONS MR. BIXBY!!!

William Bixby, former principal at Bull Run Middle School, has been named Principal of Gar-Field High School, effective July 1. Mr. Bixby came to PWCS in 1988 as a social studies teacher at Stonewall Jackson High School. He later served as department chairman and was named coordinator of the first International Baccalaureate program in Prince William County in 1995. In 1998, Mr. Bixby was appointed assistant principal of Stonewall Jackson High School. In 2001, Mr. Bixby was selected for a rare opportunity to open a new middle school in PWC - Bull Run MS - in Gainsville, Va..

Before coming to Prince William County, he was a resident director at the University of Maryland and taught social studies in Massachusetts. A graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts in history education, Bixby earned a Master of Arts in American History from the University of Maryland and completed the Education Specialist-Administrative Leadership program at the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia.

SchoolFusion/Gar-Field Webpage Accounts

Parent and Student logins will not be available after June 17 until September. Parents and students must save ("export") their personal files on SchoolFusion before June 17.

Over the summer, changes will be made to enhance the use of SchoolFusion for parents and families by enabling all school sites to be “connected” so that parents can view student information for all of their children on one site even if students are at different schools. In addition, parents will be able to log in to either “SchoolFusion” or “Edulink Intouch” with the same user name and password.

Edulink Information

Edulink Intouch Online is used by parents and students to check grades and attendance online.

GRADE INFORMATION: Please be aware that Edulink Intouch Online will be unanavailable for use from July 1 through July 31.

IB School from UK Visits Gar-Field

Click to see photos and read updates of the student trip from our partner IB school in Bristol, UK - The Ridings High School. Fourteen students and two faculty members participated in home stays while touring local sites and attending classes with their Gar-Field friends May 23-31.

Parent Resource Center

The Prince William County Public Schools Office of Special Education Parent Resource Center has recently extended its operating hours. The Center will now be open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Evening and summer visits to the Center are by appointment only. The Center is located on the first floor of the Kelly Leadership Center, 14715 Bristow Road in Manassas. (click here to read more, or read the Spanish version)

SAVE THE DATE! Gar-Field's Class of 1989 will be celebrating its 20-year reunion on August 1, 2009 at the Old Hickory Golf Club in Woodbridge, VA. The reception will take place from 8 p.m. - 12 a.m. All logistics, including tickets, cost of reception, golf outing, location of happy hour and cookout, as well as specially negotiated hospitality rates for Gar-Field Alumni can be found on the Class of 89 website - http://www.gar-field89reunion.com/
